WHY DENTISTRY?

8.1 billion people in the world. 3.4 billion people employed. Tens of thousands of careers.  So why teeth ? It is a universal experience to be asked: "What do you want to be in the future?" For many, the obvious answers are lawyers or doctors. For me, it is a dentist. You have probably only met 1/100000 children that say they want to "look at teeth" for a living. But for me, it was never just about teeth — it was about health, confidence, and the power of a smile. Dentistry combines science, precision, and compassion in a way no other career does, and that’s what drew me in. The intertwining nature that dentistry has to other subjects is what truly surprised me. Art plays a heavy role in dentistry from sculpting composite fillings to shaping crowns and veneers. Alongside the influence of anatomy, as dentistry requires the exploration of the whole body — from the muscles that guide the jaw to the vessels that carry blood to the gums.
